Financial Knowledge is Not Limited to Bay Street: The Democratization of Finance & How to Invest Using ETFs

David Chilton, here interviewed by Rob Carrick from the Globe & Mail, played a major role in the democratization of financial literacy, making it understandable and accessible to all.
With his book The Wealthy Barber published in 1989, he creates and follows a few characters as they are being introduced to financial literacy, allowing the reader to be enlightened with them about how to save money, how to invest it, how to buy a house and many other themes relevant to all of us.

In this brief video, he explains how difficult it is to "beat the market" (over perform which ever index one is following, the index tracking the evolution of a certain number of companies) and why it therefor makes sense to try and lower the costs by using ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds), another important tool toward the democratization of finance.
