Workshops

Mindfulness in schools
Mindfulness Workshops
These workshops are designed to introduce students to the practice of mindfulness during 15 minute-sessions twice a week for 2 months.
Students will be presented:
- the definition of mindfulness,
- the benefits of mindfulness and

- different ways to practice mindfulness: posture, breathing, sounds, emotions and thoughts observation...
As we progress through the workshops, students will be asked to take a more active role in leading the mindfulness sessions.

Taking an exam

Workshop - Taking an exam
This workshop aims at deconstructing some of the myths that surround the exam taking process.
Based on the feedback from students on what it means for them to take an exam, we will make the distinction between thoughts and restrictive of thoughts (thoughts that increase fear and helplessness).
Alternatives thoughts will be presented to the students that invite them to reconsider what an exam really means. Behind the strategies that will be presented is the idea that children already have a long history of performing tasks. Techniques leaning on mindfulness practice will be presented, which allow, when the pressure becomes too great, to focus on a so-called "mindful anchor" for example that each student will identify for him or herself.
The goal at the end of the workshop is for students to have selected from a variety of strategies the ones that they will apply when passing the examination.
